I'm a life-long Floridian, so I've been to Orlando more times than I can remember. Most recently, my ventures have been to party with some of the cooler peeps in the scene, knowing that the parties are always top-notch. My last visit was to catch the 10th Anniversary of Planet Of The Drums at The Social (also where I caught Ming+FS years ago) a few weeks ago. Orlando greats Circle K and Collaborator opened for the POTD boys, and I just wanted to take a moment to shout them out.
Cirlce K and Collabo (and Melistic of Jungala) are the masterminds behind Torque, Orlando's 10+ year old drum and bass weekly, and not only are they great guys, but true promoters of the music. I thought it was awesome to find the pic below over at Media Contender. I met the man known as Gridlok back in 2000-2001 when I was promoting with EvilBase and the DrumWerkz weekly. Good dude, makes some seriously sick stuff, and he continues to get better. Glad to see him repping the home state boys out in his new home of California.
